SourceSwap tells you whether your housing society is running on the electricity grid (mains) or on the backup diesel generator — live, and with a history of past outages.
A sensor installed at your society's mains supply detects the real power source and reports it to the app instantly. You just open SourceSwap to see the current status, and on the Pro plan you're alerted the moment it switches.
Already have an account? Just sign in and choose your society.
We roll out one society at a time. Cities and societies marked “coming soon” don't have a sensor connected yet, so they aren't selectable.
Sign in and select the closest match, or email hello@sourceswap.app with your society's name — telling us where demand is helps us prioritise the rollout.
SourceSwap is a web app — no app store needed. Adding it to your home screen makes it open like a native app and, on iPhone, is what unlocks push alerts.
iPhone / iPad (Safari): tap Share → Add to Home Screen → Add.
Android (Chrome): tap menu → Install app.
Push alerts are included on Pro and reach you even when the app is closed.
The Account screen also has an illustrated, step-by-step guide for your exact device.
Work through these — they resolve almost every case:
Still stuck? Email hello@sourceswap.app.
Prefer Telegram? On Pro you can get the same outage alerts there for free.
Once you've dismissed the permission prompt, the browser won't ask again until you reset it:
Then return to Account and switch Push Notifications on again.
Mains means your society is on the electricity grid. Generator (DG) means the grid is down and you're running on the diesel backup — that's an outage in progress.
The big status card on your dashboard always shows the current source, refreshed automatically.
The monthly calendar on your dashboard colours each day by how much time your society spent on the generator that day:
Uptime % is the share of the month so far spent on the grid. Use the arrows to move between months.
The status is read directly from a sensor on your society's mains supply — it reflects the actual power source, not a schedule or a prediction. Readings update continuously, so the app tracks switches within moments of them happening.
If something looks off for your society, tell us at hello@sourceswap.app and we'll check the sensor.
Last outage shows when the most recent outage began (or “Ongoing” if you're on the generator right now). Recent activity lists your latest outages with their start/end times and how long each lasted.
Nothing abrupt happens. You've already paid for the current billing period, so you keep every paid feature until that period ends — then your account moves to free Basic automatically.
This is true whether you cancel yourself or your bank/UPI revokes the AutoPay mandate. If a mandate is revoked, we email you the exact date your access continues to, with a one-tap link to re-subscribe. There are never surprise charges after cancellation.
Your first month on any paid plan is fully refundable within 30 days if you're not satisfied. From the second month onwards, charges are non-refundable once billed. Full details are in our refund policy.
To stop future renewals, cancel the SourceSwap AutoPay mandate from your UPI app's autopay/mandate section, or email us at hello@sourceswap.app. You'll keep your plan until the end of the period you've already paid for.
SourceSwap uses Sign in with Google — there's no separate password to remember. Use the same Google account each time so your society and plan stay linked. Trouble getting in? Email hello@sourceswap.app.
Open Select society from your account to switch to a different city/society at any time.
SourceSwap only shows society-level power status — never anything about individual homes or your personal usage. See our privacy policy for how we handle your account data.
The Enabler is an optional add-on for the Max plan that lets SourceSwap automatically control your own devices — for example, pausing high-draw appliances like ACs or EV chargers while your society is on the generator, to save on diesel-backed power.
On Max, open Smart devices and follow the guided setup: connect the Enabler to your home Wi-Fi, then enter the pairing code it shows to claim it onto your account.
